Services offered by the Ministère's partners
The Ministère funds over one hundred community organizations to assist newcomers in their integration process in Québec.
These partners across Québec offer various services to immigrants free of charge:
- assistance in finding housing;
- information on how to obtain documents, cards and essential permits;
- settlement and integration support;
- information on public services;
- information on opportunities for settling in the regions;
- full-time and part-time French courses;
- group session called Premières démarches d’installation (First settlement steps);
- session called Objectif Intégration;
- support for special clienteles (youth, women in difficulty, disadvantaged families, etc.);
- intercultural mediation.
You must make a request in order to receive an adapted service for the French courses offered by the MIFI’s partners.
Clienteles
The clienteles who receive these services:
- permanent residents under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (S. C., 2001, c. 27);
- holders of a temporary resident permit issued under section 24 of the Act, while permanent residency application is pending;
- holders of a temporary resident permit as temporary workers or foreign students and of a Certificat de sélection du Québec;
- persons who have obtained asylum, under section 95 of the Act1;
- persons authorized to submit an application for permanent residence while in Québec.
